Main purpose of internship: this is a very exciting internship opportunity to join the communications team at the british embassy in colombia, supporting the head of communications and wider team with their activities and support to promote the uk as an key partner for colombia. the communications team is at the heart of the embassy’s mission, working proactively to promote and showcase initiatives across all policy areas and ensuring robust external and internal communications. the intern will assist with the day-to-day running of the team, internal comms, and support in the organisation of events hosted or supported by the embassy. roles and responsibilities / what will the internshipholder be expected to achieve? events (60%) - support the team with logistics and occasional contact with suppliers for events that we host or are supporting. for example, arranging accommodation, transport, catering, audio-visual equipment, carrying material, stocktaking and special requirements. - maintain good relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders. - support with the organisation of the embassy forward look and residence events planner. - support with embassy events invitations and guest lists. - coordination and support with corporate sponsors (uk companies) of embassy events. - maintain a database of service providers. - administrate the press storage room, keeping it organised, clean and tidy with an updated inventory. internal communications (40%) - design and production of content for internal screens and comms such as the ambassador’s weekly message to staff. - o...
