This position serves as a senior technical contributor and a key support resource within the automation team. ***: **Accountabilities**: As the QA Automation Engineer Specialist, you will be accountable for: - ** Test Strategy & Design** - Designing and implementing scalable test automation solutions. - Contributing to automation architecture discussions and framework enhancements. - ** Quality & Efficiency** - Ensuring that automated tests meet quality standards and support fast, reliable execution. - Providing technical support and guidance to team members when addressing complex testing scenarios. - ** Technical Execution** - Maintaining and enhancing existing automation frameworks using technologies like Java, BDD, and POM. - Performing root-cause analysis and solving complex automation-related issues. - ** Collaboration** - Partnering with development and QA teams to align automation efforts across the CCA division. - Supporting the automation of regression test suites and new features. - ** Continuous Improvement & Innovation** - Proposing and developing initiatives aimed at improving automation and testing productivity. - Monitoring test effectiveness and identifying areas for optimization. - Researching and evaluating new tools or libraries to improve testing processes **Dimensions**: **Scope**: Acts as a senior technical contributor within the QA automation team, with influence over automation architecture and coding standards **Span of Control**: Possibly people management responsibilities; technical support and mentorship expected **Impact**: Influences testing reliability, code quality, and velocity of software releases. **Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)**: **_ Required:_** - _ 4+ years of experience in QA Automation._ - _ Strong programming skills in Java and understanding of object-oriented programming._ - _ Proficiency with automation frameworks and design patterns, including POM and BDD._ - _ Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies._ - _ Ability to write and maintain complex automated tests._ - _ Strong interpersonal and communication skills._ - _ Demonstrable experience leading technical teams and as a people manager._ - _ English level: B1+-B2_ **_ Nice to have:_** - _ Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)._ - _ Exposure to CI/CD practices and related tools (Jenkins, Bitbucket, etc.)._ - _ Experience with API and performance testing._ Li-Hybrid COLGBS Location(s): Colombia : Bogota : Bogota ScotiaTech is a business unit within ScotiaGBS, a Scotiabank Group company located in Bogota, Colombia.
