The Pre-Sales Engineer collaborates with the Sales, Product, Engineering, and Support teams to ensure that proposed solutions appropriately respond to customer expectations, are backed by the product offer, and are appropriate for key technical and business decision-makers at the customer. This means the SE helps the Sales team with RFIs/RPFs, facilitates Discovery sessions, Technical and Solution Demo sessions to develop value propositions for prospects, and builds business architecture with an implementation roadmap. Also, SEs collaborate closely with the Implementation team in handling the implementation plan and proposed architecture for the Implementation team to take it into action with the merchant’s tech teams. SEs must possess strong solution selling and value-based selling skills. **Responsibilities**: - Facilitate discovery sessions through an engaged methodology (ex.: Design Thinking) in order to understand business needs and customer pain points. Lead the conversation as an advisor. - Deliver solution demo sessions emphasizing the impact on business outcomes and value-added using wow demo techniques such as storytelling, “tell-show-tell”, limbic opening/closing, etc. - Define business value as part of the larger opportunity and articulate a compelling value proposition. - Facilitate technical demo sessions. Liaise with client technical teams to ensure a clear understanding of the product and its technical capabilities. - Secures input from all necessary solution stakeholders within the customer firm. - Adapts solutions, as necessary, to ensure appropriate support. - Support to the sales team, supporting technical and solution topics in RFxs. - Coordinates closely with internal sales, sales support, and service resources to align solution architecture design based on customers’ business requirements. - Secures from customer technical staff commitments are needed to ensure a deal’s technical close. - Maintain strong knowledge of MetaMap’s solutions. - Keep the knowledge of the competitive landscape and updated with latest industry/solutions trends. - Adoption of MetaMap’s internal tools to provide accurate information to manage our business. **Skills & Experience**: - Minimum 3-7 years experience as a Solutions or Pre-Sales Engineer. - Speaks English fluently. - Previous experience at a B2B SAAS company ideally. - A record of achievement and technical solution expertise in comparable sales roles. - Strong in deal strategy and competitive positioning, seasoned accomplished presenter (executive level) - Strong knowledge of one or more related industries. - Excellent communication and presentation skills. - Product certification, engineering credential, or equivalent technical credential. - A creative and innovative/critical thinker who thrives when experimenting and adapting to rapidly shifting markets. - A digital native with experience in digital engagement strategies leveraging video, digital assets, and social media platforms.
