PurposeContributes to the overall success of the Support and Services Units in Canada / Colombia, Dominican Republic and globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.AccountabilitiesChampions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.Responsible for building, analyzing and manipulating large amounts of data to create a data architecture that leads to the creation of functional reports for all levels from staff to board members in an accurate and periodic or ad hoc manner.Developing and monitoring data quality metrics and providing strong reporting and analytical information support to the management team in GBS. This includes identifying process improvements for increasing business efficiency and effectiveness.Provide support and maintenance to existing data architecture and internal reporting. Furthermore, make recommendations to update current MIS to improve data quality (efficiency, consistency, accuracy, reliability, etc).Maintain awareness of best practices in the field of Data Analytics and adopt a continuous learning model to reflect the quality of work that is produced for GBS.Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide customer support and assistance in issue troubleshooting and resolution.Create and improve automated processes for the different operations.Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.Champion a high performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.Education / ExperienceA recognized undergraduate degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, MIS or a related discipline, along with 3+ years of practical experience in Business Intelligence and Analytics fields is required.English proficiency (minimum B1+ level), should be able to communicate during meetings.The incumbent must also have skills and experience in the use of statistical and analytical tools such as Python, SQL Server, SQL Management, SQL Server Integration Services; Excel, Access and Power BI is a Plus. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate successful development of value-add reporting and analysis in previous roles and explain the benefit this brought to the organization.The incumbent must have good knowledge and experience of reporting and analysis, development of KPIs and industry best practice of analytics.The incumbent must be a creative, results-oriented, and highly motivated individual with very good analytical skills in order to apply this knowledge to identify key business drivers, formulate business rules and write calculations for the development of KPIs and other indicators.Further, the incumbent must possess very good interpersonal and communication skills in order to effectively work with other team members and business owners both in English and Spanish.The incumbent should have knowledge and experience in data mining, construction of predictive models and data modeling.Working ConditionsWork in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
