Purpose Contributes to the overall success of Core Data Engineer and Central service, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Accountabilities - Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. - Contribute to the assessment of sizing and complexity of User Stories and to the solutioning of those Stories for Credit Card and tokenization applications - Develop User Stories to a high level of quality, including identifying error scenarios, the development of automated tests, and the review of code coverage and static code analysis reports. - Ensure deliverables meet architectural and coding expectations, including leveraging modern language features and functional programming coding styles. - Contribute to reviews of pull requests created by peers. - Proactively monitor application environments with available tools, create awareness in the larger team of any observed issues, and contribute to resolving those issues. - Proactively identify opportunities to drive modernization of technology and automation of processes, including offering ideas of solutions to these opportunities. - Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporate into in day-to-day activities and decisions. - Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. - Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. Dimensions - Countries / regions / business units supported - Primarily Caribbean region and México - Number of projects / Number of systems - Contribute to a growing ecosystem of microservice applications Education / Experience / Other Information - English communication skills, both oral and written - 5+ years’ experience in a Java Developer role; - 2+ years’ experience with Java8 or higher - 3+ years’ experience with Java SpringBoot / Spring Cloud / JPA - 2+years’ experience with Tokenization implementations and Credit Card Projects - Familiarity with Postman, REST, SOAP, SQL Server and DB2 is an asset - Familiarity with cloud platform technologies is an asset - Experience in SCRUM Agile teams is an asset - Experience working on multiple initiatives concurrently - Experience working remotely in distributed project engagements - Bilingual English/Spanish language skills (B2 English level) Working Conditions Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. #LI-Hybrid #COLGBS Required Skill Profession Computer Occupations
