Purpose Contributes to the overall success of the Emerging Technology & Platform Engineering department in GFRT, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Accountabilities Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Perform 24/6 batch monitoring and alerting. SLA monitoring and alerting. Perform incident gathering and resolution. And escalate them to the proper level 2 support team when needed. Document and maintain operational procedures and processes. Create/maintain operational dashboard, and or metrics. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment Dimensions The incumbent is responsible for the monitoring of multiple batch job processes which requires high degree of attention and of availability, where the consequence of job failures would cause delays to downstream data consumers. The incumbent is also responsible for providing first level support to designated batch jobs within the unit. Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role) The candidate must have knowledge of most aspects of Information Technology as well as understanding of batch processes and monitoring. Also must have analytical, problem solving and trouble shooting skills in order to quickly and effectively identify/resolve problems in a demanding environment. This person must have knowledge about client/servers and multi-tier environments. This person should have knowledge or experience working with: . Multiple computing platforms, such as UNIX, Windows, Linux. . UNIX shell scripts. . Database technologies like (SQL, Oracle, Sybase, DB2) The candidate also must have good interpersonal and communication skills in order to convey information to downstream and upstream teams regarding the job processes.
