**Requisition ID**: 142059 We are committed to investing in our employees and helping you continue your career at ScotiaGBS **Position**:Reconciliation Senior Analyst / Reconciliation / Finance Services Unit**: **_ Purpose_** Contributes to the overall success of the Reconciliation Team in Canada for the Finance Services Unit ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The Financial Reconciliation team is responsible for developing, managing and executing the centralized financial reconciliation process within the Bank. The Financial Reconciliation process is a critical process in supporting the Bank's RDARR (Risk Data Aggregation & Risk Reporting) compliance for 2016 and onwards. As of December 2016, the Finance Reconciliation team is working closely with the Enterprise Data Management Office (EDMO) and various Risk Groups to develop the centralized Financial Reconciliation process. It is expected that this process will reach its Target Operational State by the end of 2017 or early 2018. The Senior Analyst performs monthly financial reconciliation on data between CDS (Certified Data Sources) and EGL. This includes performing the compensating control process for risk groups which have not adopted the GLRAS process. This role works closely with various Risk Groups and business units to investigate variances identified in the reconciliation process and performs adjustments as required. The incumbent is also expected to prepare a reporting package to present the certification status of the reconciliation for management's approval. The incumbent works closely with EDMO and Technology team(s) to facilitate the development and enhancement of GLRAS, in preparation for the on-boarding of various Risk Groups into the GLRAS process. **_ Accountabilities -**: - Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. - Identify and investigate above threshold variances with business units. - Perform manual adjustments for known variances and balancing adjustments for below threshold variances in GLRAS. - Report on the certification status of the reconciliation for management's approval. - Escalate significant reconciliation issues to the Manager and/or higher on a timely basis. - Effective and efficient maintaining of Interbranch and Intercompany Reconciliation. - Analysis IB/IC Income Statement & Balance Sheet differences. - Communicate with various departments with differences and ensure timely resolution. - Advise of material differences for taking appropriate corrective actions. - Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. - Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. - Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. **_ _**_Reporting Relationships (Job Titles only)_**:** Primary Manager**:**_ (include secondary Manager if applicable)_** - Senior Manager, Finance Services Unit **Direct Reports**: - Not applicable **Shared Reports (solid/dotted if applicable)**: - Not applicable **_ - **:**_Dimensions_**: **_ Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)_**: - Ability to gain understanding of the Bank's accounting systems and procedures quickly (EGL,OBI, Essbase, GLRAS) - Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial analysis skills; ability to identify issues and find solutions - Attention to details and organizational skills with the ability to work under tight time constraints in a high volume environment, especially at quarter end - Strong communication skills, as this role works closely with various departments of the Bank - Superior Excel skills including pivot tables, v-lookup etc.; prior accounting reconciliation experience - Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or similar professions (general knowledge of banking is a plus) - Professional Accounting designation (CPA, CA, etc.) is a plus - 3+ years’ experience in general or tax accounting (Big four companies) **_ - ** **_Working Conditions_**: Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence Location(s): Colombia : Bogota : Bogota || Colombia : Cundinamarca : Bogotá ScotiaGBS is a Scotiabank Group company located in Bogota, Colombia created to support different processes of the Bank and the development and executi
