Ensures all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. **Accountabilities** - Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. - Responsible for providing specialized technical leadership in the analysis, design, development, implementation and support for fullstack environment. The incumbent is responsible for current and future implementation projects within the group, introducing new technologies to meet business objectives and providing technical consultation and guidance to all development projects. - Involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting CIAD pipelines that is delivered on time and within budget. - Create scripts for pre and post deployment tasks - Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code. - Support the IT areas that need development support ensuring the testing, implementation and other IT areas have a good understanding of the solutions. - Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. - Release deployments usually happen after-hours and on weekends. Flexibility to support during those times is needed. - Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. - Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. **Education/Experience** - Very strong English communication skills, both oral and written - 5+ years’ experience in a Java Developer role a. 5+ years’ experience with Java 8 or higher b. 3+ years’ experience with SpringBoot - Familiarity with Postman, REST, SQL server is an asset. - Familiarity with cloud platform technologies is an asset. - Familiarity with other technologies (such as NodeJS) is an asset. - Familiarity with Conent manager tools - Experience working on multiple initiatives concurrently. - Experience in banking or financial industry is an asset. - Post secondary degree in computer science or equivalent **_ Working Conditions_**: - Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
