Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. **Accountabilities**: - Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. - Contribute to the assessment of sizing and complexity of User Stories and to the solutioning of those Stories. - Develop User Stories to a high level of quality, including identifying error scenarios, the development of automated tests, and the review of code coverage and static code analysis reports. Ability to work collaboratively with peers or individually, as required by the User Story. - Ensure deliverables meet architectural and coding expectations, including leveraging modern language features and functional programming coding styles. - Work in a dynamic environment where priorities can change, and be able to adapt and pivot between multiple competing priorities. - Contribute to reviews of pull requests created by peers. - Proactively identify and create awareness of opportunities to drive modernization of technology and automation of processes, including offering ideas of solutions to these opportunities. - Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. - Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. - Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. **Dimensions**: - Countries / regions / business units supported - Primarily Caribbean region - Number of projects / Number of systems**Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)**: - Solid English communication skills, both oral and written (B2 minimum), and comfortable in a primarily English work environment. - 3+ years experience in a Java Developer role; - 2+ years’ experience with Java8 or higher - 2+ years’ experience with SpringBoot 2 or higher - 2+ years experience developing with JS user interface frameworks, especially React - Familiarity with Redux, NodeJS, CSS is an asset - Familiarity with testing frameworks, especially Jest, is an asset - Familiarity with Postman, REST, SQL Server is an asset - Familiarity with cloud platform technologies and authentication with OAuth2 is an asset - Familiarity with other technologies (such as NodeJS) is an asset - Experience in SCRUM Agile teams is an asset - Experience working on multiple initiatives concurrently - Experience working remotely in distributed project engagements - Experience in banking or financial industry is an asset - Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or equivalent Li-Hybrid Location(s): Colombia : Bogota : Bogota ScotiaTech is a business unit within ScotiaGBS, a Scotiabank Group company located in Bogota, Colombia.
