The interim worship leader is a part-time position tasked with planning, preparing for, and leading a weekly traditional worship service, promoting authentic worship, and proclaiming the message of christ. primary objectives and responsibilities leadership 1. lead the congregation in worship and direct the flow of service. this includes coordination with the media team, ushers, and deacons. 2. develop a weekly order of service in coordination with the pastor. 3. facilitate a weekly rehearsal with the choir and orchestra to prepare quality worship on sundays. 4. recruit, screen and/or develop new musicians and singers. abilities 1. skilled in vocal and instrumental direction. 2. can proficiently play the keyboard. 3. quality singing voice and engaging and energetic stage presence. 4. team player with good relational skills. 5. familiarity with the baptist hymnal. 6. self-starter who strives for quality. volunteers 1. work collaboratively with organist, pianist, orchestra and the pastor in selecting songs and leading worship. 2. recruit, screen and train new volunteers. 3. provide edification and discipleship among volunteers. general 1. have a heart and desire for leading people in traditional worship. 2. devote time to finding, learning and introducing worship songs that are consistent with scripture and shbc’s statement of beliefs. 3. protect the unity and culture of volunteers and staff and have fun doing it. 4. lead worship at intermittent special events or services as needed (ex: combined worship services, good friday worship services, church-wide musicals). pers...
