Hiring Department MizzouRec Services and Facilities is a department within the Division of Student Affairs that provides quality leisure experiences to all members of the campus community, primarily Mizzou students. Job Description Summary Join the MizzouRec team as the Aquatics Programs Coordinator and lead exceptional aquatic experiences at one of the nation's premier collegiate recreation facilities. Manage the Tiger Swim program, oversee course setup in Fusion, ensure quality instruction, and deliver excellent customer service. Work closely with the Assistant Director of Aquatics and a dedicated team to create a safe, engaging environment for swimmers of all ages and skills. Support aquatic events, collaborate with other departments, and contribute to MizzouRec's vibrant culture. Essential Functions Student Employee Management Hire, train, schedule, and supervise approximately 40 student staff, including Tiger Swim Leads and Instructors. Program Management Manage the Tiger Swim program, including course listings in Fusion, customer service, and teaching standards. Supervise on-site during swim sessions. Assist with training, certification courses, events, and facility reservations. Instruction Lead or assist with lifeguarding and instructor training courses. Support staff training sessions as needed. Event Facilitation Collaborate on hosting aquatic events and competitions, supporting external groups and large attendance. Additional Responsibilities Participate in departmental events and serve on campus committees as needed. Shift 40 hours per week. During Tiger Swim lessons, hours are typically 1:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday, with additional hours scheduled. Off-season hours are generally 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with evenings and weekends required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Current American Red Cross certifications (LGI, WSI, CPR-PR, First Aid) or ability to obtain within six months. At least two years of experience managing a learn-to-swim program in an aquatic center. Anticipated Hiring Range University Title: Student Service Coordinator II Pay Grade: GGS 009 Hourly Range: $21.28 - $25.97 Check your current grade and title via myHR.
