About the Role This is a challenging and rewarding role that supports all activities, practices, and procedures relating to two business segments (LII and Surety) in LatAm. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing special projects in a cross-functioning environment, including oversight of accounting records and statistical information, preparation of financial statements, analysis of operating results and trends, and monitoring regulatory and tax compliance. Key Responsibilities - Supports the Head of Accounting Operations to ensure timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual book close cycles for a complex accounting function by effective planning, monitoring, and problem solving. - Oversees the production of all financial reports issued by a complex accounting function, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles. - Develops, documents, and assures adherence to an internal control framework that ensures accurate and timely financial reporting. Makes recommendations to continuously improve the overall control environment. - Understands how data flows through the financial systems to the accounting function, planning appropriately for changes and prioritizing and implementing enhancements. - Uses increasing insight to identify and implement improvements that increase the business value and efficiency of the work performed. - Leads complex cross-functioning projects and continuous improvement activities. - Communicates effectively with own team and across organizational boundaries to create alignment and ensure the successful completion of shared goals. - Cultivates a strong collaborative environment focused on development of talent, driving innovation, and sharing our identity & values. - Performs special projects such as OneGL (Corporate Accounting System) implementation readiness. - Supports the Head of Reinsurance, Regulatory Reporting and Technical Policy to monitor the timely and accurate completion of regulatory reports and tax filings in five legal entities. - Assist with special projects such as IFRS 17 in Peru and Colombia. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Postgraduate studies in Accounting/Finance are preferred. - Minimum of 10 years of accounting/finance experience, including 5 years of managing teams in a regional accounting/finance role within a Global Insurance Company or large public company experience - Experience with Global ERP Systems is required. SAP is ideal. - Must demonstrate the ability to execute thoroughly in a fast-paced work environment, adapting quickly to changing conditions to achieve results collaborating cross-functionally with peers and stakeholders. - Excellent communication and presentation skills. - Bilingual (English/Spanish) with high degree of fluency is required. - Advanced MS Excel, Financial Applications (Finance BI). - Strong knowledge of accounting principles (USGAAP/IFRS). - Knowledge of insurance regulatory standards in various countries in LatAm.
