Purpose Provides advisory, leadership and oversight over the Global Communications Supervision Procedures on behalf of GBM Internal Controls to ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct, internal policies & procedures, Global FX Code, industry standards and applicable regulatory requirements. Oversees and enhances ongoing operational processes, procedures, and manages business changes to align with regulatory changes. This incumbent contributes to the overall success of the Communications Surveillance team ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. Accountabilities Leadership: Leads a team of Managers and Senior Analysts in the execution of the Global Communications Supervision Procedures, inclusive of directing and/or supporting reviewing activities, and ensuring they are conducted expertly, professionally, and effectively. Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Manages ambiguity surrounding the initiatives/projects. Ensures their team is effective, producing positive results, and adjusts team focus as needed. Business Knowledge: Maintains expert knowledge of Bank and GBM processes, policies, procedures, applications, and products related to Global Communications Supervision Procedures. Documentation & Audit Readiness: Ensure the team keeps high-risk regulatory and operational controls current, along with other documentation, including handbooks, test plans, methodology, schedules, reporting, etc. that contribute to sustaining the Global Communications Supervision Procedures. Global Communications Supervision: Manages the execution of GBM Communication Supervision Procedures, planning the resources required to perform the review alerts. This includes: Liaising with senior management and other internal parties regarding the resources required for review, assessment, disposition, and documentation of alert reviews in accordance with GBM Communication Supervision Procedures. Establishing controls to warrant the confidentiality of the information and the concise and accurate record of review results. Defining internal processes to ensure timely escalation and documentation of alerts to Level 2 teams when required according to escalation procedures. Establishing best practices for supervision (roll out of training, new detection technology, coordination with support areas) while seeking input from multiple stakeholders. Working as part of the team providing subject matter expert on GBM Communication Supervision Procedures, liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required and fostering an environment of collaboration and best practices with other SMEs within GBM. Proactively identifying the various risks associated with GBM Communication Supervision Procedures and taking appropriate steps to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Defining monitoring of supervisory activities for Communications Surveillance team and developing metrics that highlight the effectiveness of supervisory activities taking place. Executing reviews, in accordance with relevant policies/procedures and preparing executive reports on review findings and communicating these to appropriate partners. Ensuring that the execution of all controls related to Communications Surveillance are executed in the manner required by the Governance team in Canada, including data feed control, quality control, social media, among others that may be included under the supervision and reporting of the communications surveillance team in Bogotá following the policies, procedures and the regulation associated to them. Relationship Management: Develops and maintains strategic relationships by: Establishing, building and maintaining relationships with GBM Internal Controls key stakeholders and departments within GBM and International Banking; Working with a diverse working group, with varying expertise and job levels; Building good working relations with external vendors and internal/external technology partners, as applicable. Participating in the Communications Surveillance Oversight Working Group, representing the Communications Surveillance team and presenting results to executive stakeholders. Other Projects and Activities: Manages/Performs ad-hoc, unique and/or focused reviews as necessary; and other duties and projects as assigned. Dimensions To assist and support Business units and management within Global Business Management with the requirements and responsibilities related to Global Communications Supervision Procedures, this role will lead and support the implementation, documentation, assessing, and oversight on the activities contained in: • Global Voice and Electronic Communications Policy This role will support Global Banking & Markets and International Banking.
