You would need the ability to think and assess critically, ask the right questions which in turn highlights and provides solutions. Also the ability to learn, research and develop solutions independently will be non-negotiable. About the Role We’re hiring a CAD Designer with HVAC experience to join a high-performing remote team. You’ll be responsible for producing clear, precise, and well-organized mechanical drawings that directly support engineers, project managers, and on-site execution teams. If you're detail-oriented, organized, and skilled in translating project requirements into construction-ready documentation, this role offers a stable, full-time opportunity with flexibility and room to grow. Key Responsibilities Develop and revise detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for commercial HVAC systems (ductwork, piping, mechanical layouts) Interpret scopes of work and design direction from engineers and operations staff Maintain drawing set version control and manage documentation revisions across project phases Deliver organized, timely drawing packages to support construction and permitting workflows Ensure adherence to technical standards and internal design documentation protocols Communicate proactively with the team to resolve questions or technical clarifications Qualifications 4-7 years of CAD drafting experience in HVAC or mechanical design environments Familiarity with HVAC layouts, duct routing, and mechanical systems in commercial buildings Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP Experience managing drawing revisions and file organization Excellent attention to detail and structured work habits Strong written and verbal communication in English Ability to work independently and manage time in a remote work setup Availability to overlap with U.S. Pacific Time Zone to large extent Nice-to-Have Skills Prior experience supporting a U.S.-based HVAC, construction, or MEP contractor (1st Prize would be exposure and knowledge of California Building Codes) Knowledge of U.S. building codes, Title 24, or ASHRAE standards Familiarity with tools like PROGECAD/ AutoCAD, MSOffice & Teams Ability to read and interpret architectural or engineering plans What’s On Offer Competitive salary tailored by geography: LATAM: $1,500–$2,500/month USD South Africa: $1,800–$2,800/month USD Long-term, full-time remote opportunity with a fast-growing U.S. company Full work-from-anywhere flexibility A supportive and communicative team culture Direct exposure to commercial construction projects and real-world HVAC design Opportunity to grow your skills and career in a technical, design-focused environment
