Position Description We are seeking a Piping Specialist to join the Piping & Valve Group under the Equipment Consulting Services Department (ECSD). ECSD provides Saudi Aramco and joint ventures with specialized engineering consultations, introduces viable technologies, and maintains quality standards. The primary role of the Piping Specialist is to provide operational and project support, technical consultations, and standards maintenance related to piping and pipelines. Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to: Perform project reviews to evaluate standard compliance and design basis of piping and pipelines. Support operational piping activities and assessments. Conduct fitness-for-service analyses of piping and components. Support standard management for SAES, SAEP, SABP, and 04-SAMSS related to piping and pipelines. Determine design pressure, temperature, material (allowable stress), and pipe diameter. Review and determine maximum span of piping layout and rating of piping components (flanges, fittings). Review free span and on-bottom analysis using submarine free span criteria. Act as a technical advisor, providing operational support to Saudi Aramco organizations. Lead technology evaluations of latest developments in piping systems. Conduct and review stress analyses and other specialized studies. Review pipeline integrity programs. Perform plant assessments and witness local manufacturing activities such as design, fabrication, assembly, and testing of piping components. Develop ideas for major technical studies or projects for less experienced engineers. Minimum Requirements The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Experience with BOM, PMS, ISS, SIS, PID, and ISO reviews and initiation. Knowledge of piping technical specifications, hydrotest diagrams, hot-tapping calculations, approvals, bid evaluations, deviation assessments, and code compliance. Familiarity with piping materials, selection philosophies, and connection types. Knowledge of design codes such as ASME, ASTM, API, MSS-SP, AWWA, and Saudi Aramco standards. Ability to read and review hydrotest diagrams and procedures. Experience with engineering design software, stress analysis, and FEA. Understanding of project phases, review cycles, and wall thickness calculations for piping and valves. Familiarity with material properties and inspection types, including NDEs and elastomers.
