**ROLE: Professional Services Consultant -Security** **LOCATION: Columbia **About the Position: **Responsibilities**: - The Professional Services Consultant will act as a Trusted Advisor to customers and assist with all phases of network development from planning to operation and optimization. - The Professional Services Consultant will provide input related to ‘best practices’ in design, implementation and/or migration planning - The Professional Services Consultant will be expected to create High Level Design, Low Level Design, Test Plans, Implementation and Migration plans - The Professional Services Consultant will educate customers on new Juniper software and hardware features - The Professional Services Consultant will be expected to provide customers with technical information and documentation related to Juniper Networks products - The Professional Services Consultant will participate in requirements gathering workshops, discussions and meetings with Customer’s Design, Test and/or Engineering Teams - The Professional Services Consultant will evaluate customer networks for performance, scalability, and security and provide recommendations to customers about improvements to network configurations and topologies to prevent problems before they occur. - The Professional Services Consultant will be constantly expanding their realm of product experience. - The Professional Services Consultant will be expected to manage their own schedule and be able to work independently to satisfy multiple customer projects concurrently. - The Professional Services Consultant will travel up to 10-20% of their time and will occasionally have to work nights, weekends and holidays. **Must have Skills**: - Expert communication and interpersonal skills - Self-starter with a passion for Technology - Commitment to delivering a remarkable customer experience - Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects as required. - Demonstrated experience as collaborative team-player - Experience/Knowledge of IP networks - Understanding of basic Network Security Principles - Experience/Knowledge of Linux/Unix based systems - Hands-on configuration and operational knowledge of Juniper Networks SRX firewalls and/or of the following security products: Cisco, Check Point, Juniper Networks/Netscreen ScreenOS Firewalls, ISS, Tipping Point, Remote Access solutions, QRadar, Juniper Secure Analytics (JSA), Junos Space, Junos Security Director - Experience with VPNs and the associated tunneling technologies and architectures (IPSEC, GRE, hub and spoke). - Experience with NAT (Source, Destination, Static, CGN, NAT-PT) - Knowledge of virtualization technologies - Experience with Juniper, Cisco or other major vendor Ethernet switches. - Experience with Juniper, Cisco or other major vendor routers. - Experience/Knowledge in dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) **Desirable Skills: - Ability to execute projects using scripting and/or relevant programming languages, for example, shell, Python, Ansible, Ruby, PERL, SLAX, JavaScript, XML - Knowledge of Juniper JunOS and Juniper Products - Industry Certifications - Juniper product certifications (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP) **Education and Experience Desired**: - 8+ years’ experience in the Network Security industry - Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar discipline
