**Careers that Change Lives** **A Day in the Life** Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. - Performs SOX work and assigned tasks in accordance with department standard operating procedures, as well as International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. - Exhibits a clear understanding of SOX procedures and testing strategies. - Documents and evidence work in a complete, accurate and organized manner to demonstrate a complete understanding and support conclusions reached. - Operates in an organized manner, including maintaining an open items list, managing multiple tasks, following up timely with business partners and others to move tasks along, and escalating issues and open items on a timely basis. - Performs a quality self-review of all completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards prior to submitting for review. - Prepares meeting materials and leads meetings, as appropriate. Takes notes and remains engaged during conversations and meetings with business partners and department management. - Executes individual work while exhibiting an awareness and ability to connect work to department and business initiatives. - Coaches new team members on general audit process, technology, and department operations. - Supports a global work arrangement and is comfortable working with a virtual team. - Understands and acknowledges the Corporate Audit Mission and Charter. - Understands the Medtronic business, analyzes issues, and connects to strategic direction. - Collaborates with others, develops self, and embraces diversity and inclusion. - Understands impact on patient and customer, generates ideas, and embraces change. - Sets challenging goals, enables operational excellence, maintains accountability and models ethical behavior. - Approximately 80% of the Staff Auditor’s time will be spent on SOX. **Must Have: Minimum Requirements** - Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or related areas. - 2 or more years of audit, financial, internal controls or relevant other experience. - Teamplayer. - Excellent communication skills. - Experience with internal control design and testing. - Experience, proficiency, and fluency in Spanish and English. - Strong professional acumen and verbal/written communication skills. - Solid critical thinking and analysis. - Ability to work independently, with moderate oversight, as well as collaboratively as part of team. - Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships through trust, respect, and high integrity. **Nice to Have** - Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. - Proficient in use of technology. - Public Accounting experience (preferably Big 4), and /or experience with public multi-national companies. - Achievement (or working toward achievement) of professional certification. **About Medtronic** Together, we can change healthcare worldwide.
