In this role as Junior Legal Counsel, you will work with other members of the Legal LATAM team as well as within the Global Legal & Compliance Team focusing on providing legal support to business stakeholders in LATAM across South Pole’s business lines. **Job summary**: The Legal & Compliance Team is looking for a motivated and talented Junior Legal Counsel to join the legal team in LATAM. The Junior Legal Counsel shall work with the wider Legal team in LATAM, supporting South Pole’s business’ activities in the region. The Junior Legal Counsel acts as a trusted business partner and provides sound legal support and advice to South Pole’s business stakeholders across all South Pole's business lines. **Main tasks & responsibilities**: - Work closely with the legal team in the LATAM region by providing accurate, relevant, and timely advice on a variety of legal topics relating to the company’s internal operations. - Draft, review, negotiate and manage a variety of commercial agreements for the LATAM region, working closely with senior team members on complex matters. - Provide legal support to the different projects of the company, especially in the determination of the property rights and property ownership, of the proposed areas for the projects the company is willing to implement - Contribute to the update and implementation of global internal processes and policies and take the lead on regional updates. - Contribute to global legal team initiatives and take the lead on regional initiatives. - Promote legal, compliance and risk management best practices throughout the company through participation in formal and day to day training of the business. - Keep up to date with changes to legislation, rules and regulations relevant to South Pole operations. **Requirements**: Essential - Bachelor’s degree and Masters in Law - Minimum 3 years experience in a contracts or in house legal role. - Sound understanding and knowledge of commercial and corporate law in one or more countries within LATAM - Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships across the business - Excellent communication skills, highly collaborative - Demonstrates strong accountability, and initiative Desirable - Experience within sustainability field, or - Experience in either environmental, infrastructure or investment projects **What we offer**: At South Pole, we care about our employees as much as we care about the planet.
