What you will do? The Supplier Quality Leader isresponsible for the identification and implementation of continuousimprovements with assigned suppliers by using Quality tools,Six-Sigma, and Lean approaches, simultaneously securing that theorganization stays aligned with business needs to improve valuegeneration in terms of sustainable supplier performance in on timedelivery, quality, capacity, scalability, and sustainability to allour sites. The Supplier Development & Quality Leader (SDQL) isa position that supports and enables the monitoring, evaluation,training, and selection of suppliers across multiple ProductBusiness Units (PBU’s) and the Field organization within JohnsonControls. This includes suppliers who provide direct material toplants, branded third party (OEM/ODM) or material with one of the Johnson Controls brand names, or third-party materials to the Fieldbusiness. The impact of this role spans multiple functions, andsuppliers within a defined region. The focus areas are to workdirectly with the Supplier Fulfillment Leaders and Business Unitlevel Procurement & Material Leads, Category Managers, QualityLeaders and Engineering. This role will lead implementation ofprocesses, tools, and training to drive quality, accuracy,efficiency, and accountability in all aspects of order fulfillmentincluding supplier lead time reduction and on-time delivery, getwell to PO, supplier past due reduction, days gap closure to JCIneed date, supplier capacity verification, surge capacity availableand key quality indicators at the supplier site as well as at JCIincluding SPPM, on-time response to 4D/8D and 8D closure rate inorder to achieve a sustainable high quality performance. You willwork cross functionally and globally to drive supplier selection,launch readiness, PPAP, incoming supplier quality performance,warranty, and cost recovery. Support Root Cause analysis and CAPAimplementation for Critical and Escalated quality and deliveryissues within the supply base, by applying standard quality,program management, operations/lean and engineering principles, andtechniques. How you will do it? - Responsibility for manufacturingpartners in terms of: - Identify and implement necessary deliveryand quality continuous improvement activities. - Lead and follow upidentified improvement projects. - Handle supplier capacity audits,reviews, and analyzes supplier’s scalability. - Analyze the need ofprocess development and investments. - Analyze production set upand methods to identify waste and improvement potentials. -Provides a structured problem-solving process to drive a solid rootcause analysis for performance issues (Delivery and Quality) forassigned suppliers. - Communicates and coordinates supplier changese.g. manufacturing location changes, process modifications,material changes, sub-supplier source changes, design changes -Facilitate and implement supplier-training and developmentprograms. - Evaluates risk of new suppliers to deliver upon programrequirements including on site or other assessments. Worksthroughout the NPI programs to ensure suppliers’ readiness. -Develops programs including a robust on-boarding and riskassessment process, execution of risk mitigation strategies,periodic on-site assessments of key suppliers, development, andexecution of JCI Global Supplier Standards. - Organizes, leads, andfacilitates audits and assessments with a cross functional team forstrategic/critical suppliers to resolve reason for poor performancemonitoring corrective action and continuous improvementvalidations. - Participates in sourcing decisions (development orphase-out) in collaboration with procurement to improve supplierperformance and optimize supplier base. - Communicate Processoutcomes & risks/mitigations effectively and efficiently duringshop floor and business center reviews. - Support strategicsupplier discussion (i.e. dual source, supplier change) items with Procurement PBU & Category leadership. - Coordinate with Supplier Fulfilment Leaders to identify risks to late delivery,handle escalations with suppliers according to JCI procedure. -Coordinates with Procurement, Operations, Materials/Fulfillment and Engineering to assure that materials are on site in a timely mannerto facilitate speedy and accurate parts availability to meetcustomer demands. - Helps to develop a culture of accountabilitysupporting the tracking, action planning, and measurableimprovement of critical supply chain planning KPIs … define theprocess mission, vision, tactics, goals, objectives, KPIs (KeyPerformance Indicators), and the measures that are aligned with theorganization strategies. - Partner with Supplier Fulfilment tohandle KPI performance through supplier management of demand-supplyvariation, labor planning, order scheduling and capacity planning. - Develop project templates and management system driving data toinformation to action plans. What we look for? Required -Bachelor’s degree within engineering, manufacturing, or supplychain management. - 7-10 years of experience in continuousimprovement in manufacturing, engineering, or supply chainmanagement, preferable in a global, cross-cultural environment. -Hands on experience of successful application of six sigma and leanmanufacturing tools. - Certification and advanced practicalexperience deploying and driving Lean, Program Management, and SixSigma. - Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills with strongproblem-solving capabilities. - Proven ability to work effectivelyin matrix organization and ability to manage and influence others. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - ProjectManagement: Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneouslyand work to a strict schedule. - Tenacious although professionalwhen working with supplier challenges. - Ability to travel up to75% including international. #J-18808-Ljbffr
