Hiring Department Medicine Job Description The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology, within the School of Medicine, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for Specialty Care to join their expanding team. Roles and Responsibilities Provide healthcare to patients using the nursing process, collaborating with other health professionals in an acute care setting. Perform patient triage and manage acute symptoms related to oncologic treatments. Educate patients and families on symptom management and psychosocial responses to cancer diagnosis and treatment. Obtain and document comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations, to be countersigned by a physician. Order and analyze diagnostic tests to assess health status. Monitor patient conditions, laboratory values, and diagnostic results. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement treatment plans. Record all patient data, including history, physical exam findings, interventions, and follow-up plans. Evaluate current research and apply findings clinically. Complete department-specific duties and expectations as outlined. Shift 40 hours per week Minimum Qualifications Master of Science in Nursing degree. Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN license. Must apply for recognition from the Missouri Board of Nursing if residency changes. For Physician Assistant roles: licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts. Preferred Qualifications Current license and registration to practice in the state. Graduation from a nurse practitioner program. Master's degree in nursing. At least one full year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience preferred.
