Hiring Department The School of Medicine Division of the Department of Medicine. Job Description The School of Medicine is seeking a Physician Assistant for the Hospitalist Division of the Department of Medicine. This role involves providing patient-centered care in a hospital setting, collaborating with physicians and healthcare staff. (This position is linked to Job ID 53890 - Nurse Practitioner Specialty Care and involves filling multiple roles.) Key Responsibilities Provide independent medical support on inpatient floors, working with physicians and hospital staff. Conduct health assessments, diagnose, and treat health issues autonomously. Order and perform diagnostic procedures; monitor patient conditions and results to develop treatment plans. Collaborate with MDs on complex cases as per the collaborative agreement. Serve as a resource for patients, families, nursing staff, and healthcare professionals. Obtain and document histories and physical exams, communicating effectively with surgeons and physicians. Identify care trends and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Assist in developing standards for care and outcomes. Perform additional duties as assigned. Shift 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with flexibility as needed. No office or administrative hours are required. No alternative schedules available. Minimum Qualifications Physician Assistant licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts. Preferred Qualifications Specialty certification by NCCPA in areas such as Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, etc. Previous hospitalist experience is preferred. Additional certifications may be required by the department. Anticipated Hiring Range $90,251.20 - $136,177. Grade: PAT-12. University title: Physician Assistant, Specialty Care.
