About this role This role will support the financial reporting of trust funds and benefit programs administered and sponsored by the IDB. As an Accounting Consultant, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating financial records, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to internal controls. You will work closely with the Accounting Policy and Trust Funds Reporting Group within the Accounting Division of the Finance Department. This team is responsible for the financial reporting and internal controls of all donor trust fund resources managed by the Bank. Responsibilities - Maintain and update financial records, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to internal controls. - Perform monthly and quarterly overall trial balance review and analysis to verify completeness and accuracy of accounting records. - Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports related to trust funds and benefit plans/programs. - Support trust funds and benefit plans' external audits and compile appropriate documentation for auditor's review. - Support the ICFR framework for trust funds and benefit plans by performing and documenting control procedures and conclusions. Requirements • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Accounting, Business Administration or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. • At least 2 years of progressive experience in accounting in public accounting (preferably Big Four accounting firms), international organizations or financial Institutions. • Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable. • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in in the selected post of duty.
