Country General Manager Job ID #: 32389MIN Job Specifications Position: Country General Manager Location: Medellin, Colombia Reports to: CEO & Board of Directors The Country General Manager will be responsible for leading the company by defining and executing business strategies and making corporate decisions. With a strong operational focus, her/his objective is to ensure the achievement and surpassing of annual production targets and to ensure operations remain within the approved budget. The role must also generate high value for shareholders, customers, employees, and neighboring communities. The Position Reporting to the CEO and the Board of Directors, the Country General Manager is responsible for the overall direction and guidance of the company's operations, including production units, administrative support functions, financial support, engineering support focused on sustainability and human resources, as well as logístical operations. She/He will also be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve the expected objectives in terms of operational cost reduction, corporate development, occupational health and safety, environmental compliance, comprehensive protection, and legal and regulatory compliance. Main Responsibilities - Daily Operations Supervision: Oversee all daily mining operations, including extraction, processing, and gold transportation, ensuring they are conducted efficiently and safely. Manage the company’s mining operations in Colombia, ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations. - Achievement of Operational Objectives: Ensure the company meets its production, sales, schedules, and operational plans through effective team leadership. - Long-Term Strategy Development: Develop and execute long-term strategies to maximize mine production and profitability, considering factors like gold prices, market demand, and economic and political conditions. - Strategic Leadership and Business Opportunities: Lead strategically and design the implementation of new business opportunities. - Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all government and environmental regulations related to mining in Colombia, as well as occupational safety standards to protect employees and the environment. Ensure the company complies with all applicable Colombian labor laws, including the collective labor agreement. - Administrative and Operational Coordination: Coordinate and oversee administrative, commercial, raw material supply, and operational functions of the company in Colombia. - High-Level Relationship Management: Manage high-level relationships with lawyers, clients, contractors, partners, and government entities, as well as communities. Act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders such as employees, suppliers, customers, the government, local communities, banks, and investors. Build and maintain strong relationships with these stakeholders and manage any issues or conflicts that arise. - Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company complies with all applicable Colombian laws and regulations. This includes obtaining necessary permits and licenses and managing environmental and social risks. - Comprehensive Company Administration: Administer and deeply understand all company areas, including commercial, financial, legal, commercial, and operations departments. - Internal Communication Plans: Develop and implement plans for constant internal communication. - Budget and Cost Management: Manage the mine’s budget and operational costs, ensuring profitability through efficient financial management. Oversee the company's budget and resources, developing and implementing expenditure plans, and monitoring financial performance. - Supply Chain Understanding: Possess a solid understanding of the gold supply chain in Colombia and abroad to anticipate situations impacting operations. - New Contact Establishment: Establish new contacts focused on formulating new commercial and governmental agreements. - Bank and Investor Relations: Identify and establish relationships with banks and investors in the sector. - Cost Reduction Strategies: Design and implement cost reduction strategies. - Sustainability and Industrial Safety Guidelines: Provide guidelines on sustainability and industrial safety. - Company Representation: Serve as the company's main representative in Colombia, maintaining effective communication with shareholders, the media, and other relevant stakeholders. - Responsible Mining Practices: Implement responsible mining practices that minimize environmental impact and contribute to the sust
