Leading company specializing in the design of control solutions for the building automation industry is seeking to fill the position of CAD Operator . The CAD Operator, under general supervision, will be responsible for translating engineering notes, specifications, and sketches into formal working drawings. These drawings are essential for designing custom electronic and DDC control systems. Essential Duties: Ensure final products match design intent and clearly communicate system operation by preparing submittal documentation such as data sheets. Maintain project drawing files, records, and documentation, including as-built drawings. Provide AutoCAD and BIM drafting support during the design stages for Building Automation System (BAS) Design Engineers. Prepare electronic system drawings, including floor plans, riser diagrams, panel control wiring diagrams, electrical interconnection drawings, and termination diagrams. Enhance department standards by applying, maintaining, and recommending improvements to AutoCAD standards, templates, and processes, including documenting new templates for potential adoption as engineering standards. Requirements: Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel. Proficient in AutoCAD 2015 and AutoCAD LT 2015. Strong knowledge of drafting and engineering practices. Understanding of drawing sheet sizes, Pen Table Files (.ctb), plotting on wide-format plotters, and Adobe PDF. Experience with Model Space, Paper Space, and Scale Factors in AutoCAD. Experience configuring and updating AutoCAD External Reference Files (Xrefs). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively. Knowledge of AutoCAD Dynamic Blocks is a plus. Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles related to HVAC controls and DDCs is a plus. Familiarity with building mechanical and electrical systems, hardware, and software is a plus. Experience with BIM coordination/modeling and tools like Navisworks or BIM 360 Glue is a plus.
