BIM Technicians play a critical role in delivering high quality data enriched models and the resulting drawings to our clients. Within the Arup team, this involves overall project planning, detailed design development and coordination between all disciplines, managing and adhering to office/client BIM standards. BIM Technicians are at the forefront of all digital innovations within the office and must be able to implement new tools on the fly and train others to do the same. **This role is based in Bogotá, Colombia. We do not require copies of diplomas, work certifications, or other documents at this stage.** **Responsibilities** - Take ownership of drawing production processes using Revit MEP. - Support the coordination of all in-coming and out-going model and drawing information. - Troubleshoot most problems that arise in a rapidly changing digital coordination environment. - Develop engineer’s concepts and sketches into accurate BIM / Revit models and drawings, through direct communications. - Conduct quality control checks to ensure compliance with BIM standards, project guidelines, and applicable electrical codes. - Collaborate with others (engineers, technicians and external parties) on resolving issues related to design, modeling, or clashes within the BIM environment. - Work on defined tasks under direct supervision. **Skills**: - Proficient in Revit, specifically for electrical systems. - Proficient in AutoCAD or similar drawing production tools. - Basic understanding of electrical systems and design standards. - Knowledge of Grasshopper, Navisworks, ACC, or other parametric, fabrication or coordination tools, would be useful. - Fluency in English (spoken and written) for effective communication with team members and understanding project documentation. - Problem Solving - Tackle both large scale/conceptual level and detail/task level problems. - Adaptability - able to jump from project to project and stay abreast of all changes. - Communication - must be able to discern the meaning of what other professionals are saying (and describing) and also present information in a way that can be thoroughly considered and understood (i.e.: translating a vision into a workable model). - Creativity - Inject “outside the box” or new thinking into both building design and drawing production challenges. - Time Management - must be realistic about how long tasks will take and reasonably assess if meeting specific deadlines will be problematic. **Minimum Qualifications** - Technical Professional Degree in Architectural and Engineering Drafting required. - Minimum 4 years of working experience in BIM modeling; preferrably for electrical systems. - Interest and passion for all aspects of the built environment and how ideas become reality. **Other**: - Organized and detail oriented. - Comfortable balancing multiple roles and responsibilities in high stress situations. - Ability to think of big picture implications to individual decisions. - Able to take ownership of any task and efficiently take it to its conclusion. - Proactively check resource data and work of self and others. - Ability to conceptualize and design practical solutions. - Comfortable in team environment, sharing roles and responsibilities. - Have a positive attitude about the challenges all projects face, and exude a confidence that makes other comfortable handing over responsibilities. - Always eager to learn new ways to do things and adapt to new ways of thinking. **What we offer you** At Arup, we care about each member’s success, so we can grow together.
