As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for the procurement of equipment maintenance services and civil works, HSSE services, supplies, and goods for the company. This includes price negotiation, delivery or execution, credit terms, creation of electronic catalogs, logistics processes, and post-sale support requirements. Key Responsibilities:Responsible for efficiently purchasing services and supplies related to Facilities/Civil Works for our Maintenance department.Responsible for negotiating services related to HSSE.Responsible for efficient purchasing, supplies, and capital equipment for the company. Receives purchase requisitions and verifies for accuracy and authorization(s).Responsible for tender's procedures, receiving bids, coordinates for committees; evaluating, assessing, and selecting bidders based on capabilities and written criteria.Establishes and executes procedures for procurement policy in conjunction with CFO.Prepares and issues purchase orders; determines and negotiates prices, delivery and credit terms; buys according to established company policies and procedures; maintains accurate purchasing records.Verifies the validity of purchase requests, ensuring all relevant documentation is received.Manages any requests that do not comply with the requisition.Acts as a liaison between buyers and the rest of the organization.Coordinates with departmental contacts to ensure timely resolution of inquiries.Acts as a liaison with Accounts Payable to resolve supplier payment issues.Responsible for launching tenders, receiving bids, and evaluating suppliers based on capabilities and criteria.Reviews and reassesses existing contracts to ensure the most favorable terms and conditions for APM Terminals.Maintains good working relationships and practices with suppliers and keeps accurate supplier records.Expedites purchase orders when necessary and ensures timely delivery of goods to maintain uninterrupted operational capacity.Coordinates the importation process – import knowledge and experience is essential.Tracks purchase orders until arrival at the terminal.Knowledge of free trade zone procedures is required.What we're looking for:Availability to relocate to Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca.Fluent English, both written and spoken (mandatory).Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Accounting, or a related discipline.At least 3 years of purchasing experience in the private industry.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required. Experience/knowledge in the shipping or transportation/logistics industry.Strong knowledge of third-party service procurement practices and principles.In-depth knowledge of Colombian customs regulations and free trade zone laws.Proficient in purchasing software applications.Strong negotiation skills.Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to gather, compare, and analyze data.Must understand basic finance and accounting principles to manage budgets and costs.Solid understanding of contract law and terms.High ethical standards with a strong commitment to the company's values in both internal and external conduct.Experience in civil works and/or HSSE services negotiations will be considered a plus.Did you read this far?
