Working side-by-side with other engineers and partnering with our product team, you will collaborate to craft and deliver on the vision and roadmap for Advanced Communications at Twilio. **Qualifications**: We are looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer who lives our Twilio Magic to join our exceptionally talented and rapidly growing engineering team. As a Tech Lead, Staff Software Engineer, you will design, architect, and build core platform services, REST APIs and help transition our platform to next-generation architecture. You will work closely with your Engineering Manager and Product Manager to build the roadmap and deliver on quarterly commitments while being a technical mentor to other engineers on the team. They also have: - 7+ years of work experience building highly scalable products - Strong experience with Java, Golang or Scala - Experience with Linux and Docker - Experience troubleshooting and performance tuning relational databases such as MySQL, Aurora or cloud NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, CosmosDB - Understanding of AWS infrastructure & services or similar public cloud providers - Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Chef - Excellent experience debugging and scaling production infrastructure and services - Clear written and spoken communication skills - Ability to mentor other engineers and direct positive incomes without direct authority - Self-drive - a tenacity for learning and you take ownership of your tasks and drive them to completion - Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience As a Staff Software Engineer, you will live the Twilio Magic values: - WRITE IT DOWN: Document technology decisions and implementations, and support epic and story refinement. - DRAW THE OWL: Identify opportunities for improvement across both technology and process.
