This role is pivotal in maintaining accurate financial records, driving tax compliance, and supporting the smooth operation of our business in the region. Key Responsibilities Maintain accounting books and records in full alignment with Colombian accounting standards, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with local regulations. Manage tax filing for the company and its employees, ensuring timely submission of all required documents and adherence to Colombian tax laws. Review payment details and supporting documents to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance before processing. Assist in organizing, binding, and archiving accounting vouchers monthly to maintain proper record-keeping practices. Conduct monthly account reconciliations, including preparing bank reconciliation statements to align book balances with bank records. Support Chinese team members in communications with local banks, facilitating efficient financial workflows. Manage applications for the company’s green energy certifications in Colombia, staying updated on relevant local regulations to ensure compliant and timely progress. Collaborate with the Financial Controller to develop and implement tax planning strategies, focusing on minimizing tax risks and optimizing tax benefits within legal boundaries. Prepare and submit accurate tax returns, ensuring the company meets all tax obligations on time and in compliance with Colombian regulations. Support internal and external tax audits by providing required documents and information, ensuring transparency and compliance. Monitor updates to Colombian tax laws and accounting standards, and assist in adjusting internal processes to maintain compliance. Generate and analyze tax and accounting reports regularly, providing timely insights to management for decision-making. Support other tax and accounting-related tasks as assigned by leadership, under the guidance of the Financial Controller. What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting. Deep familiarity with Colombian tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in local Colombian accounting software and tools. Strong skills in Microsoft 365, Office, or equivalent office software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Fluency in Spanish (written and verbal) – proficiency in English and/or Chinese is a plus. Minimum 5 years of professional accounting experience; experience at Big Four firms is preferred. Prior experience in engineering project accounting is an advantage.
