They continually expand their knowledge of ingredients, customer bases, processes, and flavor interactions within their Category applications while developing project planning skills. The role involves working independently on assigned projects and collaboratively on large, strategic projects, depending on business needs. Responsibilities/Description Develops finished product formulations incorporating IFF technologies, meeting industrial standards, country-specific, and client requirements (profile, legal, cost, and stability requirements). Works on projects for key local, strategic, and regional customers with a focus on commercial success. Applies Product Experience (PX) data for projects when required. Understands the performance of the applicable portfolio across a broad spectrum of finished products and production processes. Refines attributes such as taste and texture, articulating these with team and project members. Continuously expands knowledge of ingredients and materials for Product Design. Maintains and updates the recipe database regularly. Coordinates with Production and Quality departments to participate in successful scale-up trials under guidance. Understands the creative and design process, cost influences, productivity performance, and development constraints. Keeps abreast of market evolution and consumer preferences within the assigned Category. Collaborates closely with Sales, Marketing, Flavorists, PX, GRA, and other departments to support project execution. Builds an internal network to expand design and business knowledge. Demonstrates a positive attitude and passion; shares knowledge with the team and mentors Trainee/Associate Designers. Requirements Minimum entry level: University/College Degree in Food Science and Technology or related disciplines (e.g., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Human Nutrition). Preferred: Master’s Degree in a related area. Minimum 5 years’ experience in the industrial food, pharmaceutical, ingredient, or flavor industry, with at least 2 years in the specific field of expertise. Pass internal IFF sensory test.
