Position: Systems Administrator Location: Columbia, MD | Salary Range: $115-125K Description: The Systems Administrator maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network and systems engineers. Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency. Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts on multiple networks. Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system-wide software, and interacting with users regularly. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery. Interacts with customers to handle service inquiries and problems. Provides support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems. Distinguishes isolated user problems from enterprise-wide application/system problems. Coordinates with customers and stakeholders to collect data, conduct analysis, develop, and implement solutions associated with incident tickets and requirements. Works within a JIRA ticketing environment. Examines customer problems and implements corrective actions to initiate repairs or returns. Analyzes recurring problems, annotates, and initiates solutions to prevent reoccurrence. Works with systems and network engineers in implementing enterprise-wide systems and technologies. Ability to install and troubleshoot workstations, thin clients, applications, printers/scanners, phones, and other IT equipment. Opportunities to work within both Windows and Linux environments. Minimum Requirements: 4+ years of experience in systems administration and end-user support. Required IAT Certifications: one or more of Sec+, CASP+, CISSP. Required Vendor Certifications: one or more of Microsoft, VMWare, Cisco, Netapp, Pure Storage, HP, Dell, Linux+, RedHat. If not currently achieved, must achieve within 6 months of hire.
