Overview Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Geographic Discipline Lead with a PLS in our Columbia, SC Survey Operation. The GDL is responsible for the professional, technical, management, marketing, administrative, and financial aspects of the Department. Represents the firm as an expert in the specific Department field. Manages the Department to provide cost-effective services to Department Managers, Project Managers, staff, and other employees, ensuring adequate profit for the Company. Responsibilities Serve as the primary technical liaison between project managers and staff on assigned projects, managing the completion of technical elements. Assist project managers in preparing for and attending client/agency meetings, or present information pertinent to the project. Manage day-to-day Land Surveying Operations, including: Client communication (internal and external). Project proposal preparation and invoicing. Overseeing two or more survey crews and an office CAD team. Survey data processing with Trimble/Leica, base mapping, and plan development. Developing new business by leveraging existing clients and expanding services such as Right-of-Way Surveys, Laser Scanning, GPS, and Subsurface Utility Surveys. Engineering Supervisory Responsibilities Provide feedback and performance goals to staff. Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback. Supervise and review reports, plans, specifications, estimates, permits, and other contract documents. Manage project schedules, budgets, and QC/QA plans. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Surveying / Geospatial preferred. 10+ years of Surveying/Geospatial experience. South Carolina PLS licensure required. Ability to generate revenue through existing clients and new business development. Proficiency in English for written and verbal communication. Familiarity with survey workflows using software such as: Trimble Business Center AutoCAD Civil 3D MicroStation Bentley Open Roads Designer (plus) Leica Cyclone (plus) What We Offer At Colliers Engineering & Design, our people are our most valuable resource.
