We’re seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and pipelines that ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable software solutions. This role will collaborate closely with development teams working on Node.js, TypeScript, and full-stack applications, ensuring that both frontend and backend systems are robust, performant, and secure. Key Responsibilities · Design, build, and maintain Playwright-based automation frameworks for APIs, web applications, and microservices (Node.js/TypeScript-based). · Maintain and grow current performance tests (JMeter). · Develop and execute automated test scripts (UI, API, integration, regression, and performance). · Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless testing across all environments. · Collaborate with developers and DevOps to identify gaps, resolve bugs quickly, and improve release quality. · Optimize and maintain existing automation suites to ensure they remain scalable and efficient. · Apply AI-powered testing tools and AI-driven IDEs (like Windsurf, Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor or similar) to enhance test coverage and reduce cycle time. · Conduct manual exploratory testing when necessary, particularly for complex or edge-case scenarios. · Identify risks and assess the team on where the test cases must have priority. · Report, document, and track defects with clear and actionable insights for the development team. · Stay updated on emerging QA automation practices, tools, and frameworks to continuously improve processes. · 3+ years of experience in QA Automation within agile software development environments. · Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript (experience writing automated tests in Node.js ecosystems). · Proficiency in Playwright for building and maintaining automation frameworks. · Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling). · Experience with API testing tools like Postman, Newman, or REST Assured. · Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI) and cloud environments (AWS preferred). · Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and ability to validate data integrity during testing. · Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail. · Ability to work hybrid in Medellín, Colombia. Nice to Have · Experience with Cypress, Selenium, or other test frameworks as secondary tools. · Familiarity with security testing practices. · Prior experience testing microservices and distributed systems. · Ability to leverage AI-powered tools to streamline testing workflows. · Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) for test environments. · Flexible engagement models. · Work alongside top IT global talent. · Full compliance with security and regulatory standards. · Customized IT and software development solutions. · A supportive and collaborative work environment.
