Job Title \ We are seeking an experienced instrumentation engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in instrumentation, control systems, and safety protocols. \ ( Job Description )\ As an instrumentation engineer, your primary role will be to provide technical expertise in the design, development, installation, and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems. You will work closely with various disciplines, including operating sites, instrumentation engineering, facility planning, and project management. Your key responsibilities will include: \ - Providing support for all types of instrumentation, including level, temperature, pressure, control valves, emergency isolation valves, motor-operated valves, relief valves, flow measurement, and level gauges. - Conducting engineering studies to determine optimal solutions to complex technical problems, increase revenue, reduce costs, and improve process safety. - Leading task teams assigned to investigate incidents or solve specific technical problems. Undertaking special assignments requiring extensive technical experience and discretion when dealing with outside organizations. - Developing and maintaining Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards, Material Specifications, Procedures, and Best Practices to enhance company profitability, safety, and productivity by applying and interpreting key industry codes and standards relevant to instrumentation and control. - Reviewing and evaluating capabilities of vendors and contractors to determine their acceptability to perform major services to Saudi Aramco. Acting as a company representative in technical dealings with vendors, manufacturers, and design firms. - Performing technical evaluation for instrumentation quotations, and attending technical bid evaluation meetings. - Evaluating and introducing best practices and new technologies to enable the company to achieve Best-in-Class performance in oil and gas business. - Performing cost analyses and Value Engineering studies to recommend cost-effective solutions to technical issues. \ Required Skills and Qualifications \ To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications: \ • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferably in Instrumentation, Mechanical or Electrical engineering. A Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering is desired but not required. • Minimum 20 years of professional experience as an engineer in charge of technical work in the field of specialty. Previous work with a major international Oil & Gas Company and/or previous employment with one of the Instrumentation suppliers used by the company is desired. • Experience in plant instrumentation sizing and selection (Control valves, Pressure Relief valves, Actuators, Basic Process Measurement etc.). • Certified in ISA-Certified Automation Professional (CAP), Certified Functional Safety Professional (CFSP), TUV FSEng, Principles & Practice of Engineering (PE) certification, or Chartered Engineer (C.E.) license or registration. • Basic knowledge of H2S, LEL, pH, conductivity, O2 analyzer, CO/CO2 analyzer, fire & gas detectors, and Gas chromatographs is preferred. • Proficiency in the International codes and standards used within the oil and gas industry, i.e., API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISA, IEEE, etc. • Participated as lead engineer in HAZOP, SIL, P&ID;, Design and model reviews. • Understanding of control systems, compressor and pumps field instrumentation, speed controllers, Vibration Monitoring Systems (VMS), Compressor Control Systems (CCS). • Understanding communication protocols like DNP3, Modbus, FieldBus, TCP, IEC, SPA, RP570, ANSI and General Process Automation Protocols. • Have been an active member in a relevant professional society, (ie. ISA, IEEE, etc.) for a minimum of 3 years and hold current membership.
