Summary of the role: The E-commerce airline websites are crucial for airlines as they enable global consumer reach, streamline bookings, and enhance operational efficiency, ultimately improving customer experience and driving revenues. We are looking for a Development Manager with a good technical background and people management skills to lead our Digital Scrum team in Bogota. The candidate will be leading the Scrum team working for developing & maintaining the airline website. The candidate will work on day-to-day tasks with the developers, the Product Owner, and the Scrum Master and other internal and client-side stakeholders in a fast-paced and highly customer-facing agile environment. In this role you’ll: Delivery, Customer handling and coordination: Work within a fully SAFe agile set-up to coordinate the Development activities for new and existing website applications. Ensure all work is delivered on time and according to specifications and best practices defined by the project team. Build and organize the team with clear roles and responsibilities to meet organizational and project needs. Collaborate with all customer-side stakeholders to understand their long-term roadmap and propose internal plans to facilitate the required skillset/resourcing support. Maintain transparent and trustworthy communication channels with client-side stakeholders. Actively listen to all customer needs and facilitate required support to deliver greater value. With your technical expertise, actively participate in all technical discussions and scrum ceremonies to lead the team in building highly efficient and performant software solutions. Address customer needs, prioritize issues, and ensure delivery. Own process adherence and agility best practices. Escalate, manage & remediate potential design, production & quality issues immediately to the related development team and management as defined in the escalation path procedure. Take end-to-end responsibility to ensure all deliveries are happening on time for the applications in your portfolio. Team Management: Set individual performance goals, conduct periodic performance reviews, and provide continuous feedback. Maintain good delegation levels to leverage the strengths of each team member. Review opportunities for team career growth and take necessary actions through proposals. Find different ways to up-skill the team in various areas through different paths. Motivate & inspire team members by sharing success stories and appreciating their work on current projects. About the ideal candidate: Educational qualification & Work experience: Education: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science (or similar), or relevant work experience. Relevant Work Experience: 12+ years of experience or equivalent knowledge in a software development/engineering role. 3+ years experience in a Team/People Management role. Excellent soft skills. Strong planning, communication, organization, problem-solving, team working, and leadership skills. Creative solving of technical problems – translating technical requirements, proposing scalable designs, and collaborating with stakeholders & technical leaders. Clear communicator (written and verbal) – to communicate with customers, engineers, and stakeholders. Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables – estimation, prioritization, and budgeting with diligence. Ability to think abstractly – ensuring the ability to not conform to the norm and critically assess and improve current architectures. Technical skills and relevant experience: Good experience/knowledge in Web technologies like Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, RxJS, ngRX, Bootstrap. Understanding of SOAP/REST/GraphQL web services & standards. Experience with Test Driven Development within a continuous integration environment. Knowledge of continuous integration tools: Jenkins, SonarQube, BitBucket. Good knowledge of Source Control Management (Git / Stash). Experience in Agile software development such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Kanban, Scrum. Good English communication skills are a MUST as this is a customer-facing role. Knowledge in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Experience in cloud-based systems.
