Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements for the assigned Lines of Business. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex business problems. Specific Area of Business Analysis: Regulatory Reporting Team Major Accountabilities - Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. - Document Functional Specification and all support documents clearly and accurately - Ensure to analyze, test, and track Parallel Testing status for multiple countries. - Assist the Manager in updating dashboards for senior management. - Execute and verify the results of Post Implementation Verification. - Prepare test scenarios, test cases to complete testing on different environments. - Document test results and defects - Co-ordinate with Champion users and obtain sign off after completing User Acceptance Testing. - Assess the results of UAT tests and take appropriate action (if required). - Provide input regarding the assessment of the risk and quality of changes and enhancements. - Provide ongoing feedback to management of project progress. - Work closely with team members and business partners to clearly understand business and/or data requirements. - Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. - Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. - Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. Education/Work Experience/Designations - Min 3 years of experience in a similar Business Analyst Position - 2+ years of real time experience in SQL and good understanding of relational databases - Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Excel – 5+ years of experience - The incumbent must be a creative, self-starting, results oriented and highly motivated individual with very good analytical skills in order to apply this knowledge to independently resolve complex business problems. - 1 yr of experience in JIRA/SharePoint - The incumbent must have proven interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills in order to build consensus and obtain cooperation from both users and senior management. These skills, along with the incumbent's good time management and organizational skills, will allow the incumbent to effectively manage small projects while planning and scheduling resources within those projects to optimize productivity. - The incumbent must also possess a very good understanding of current IT practices, systems development techniques, including requirements specification and testing methodologies, real time analytical and formal modelling tools and keep current with rapidly changing technology. - Might need to work on extended hours to meet customers need or production deployments Dimensions - Definition of Business Requirements - Definition of Test Strategy - Definition of Test Cases - Managing small projects and managing and/or participating in specific sections or medium projects Working Conditions Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
