Position Overview: Seurat Technologies isseeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing EngineeringManager to lead our Equipment manufacturing engineering teams forour optical-based laser system assembly operations. This role isresponsible for developing world-class manufacturing processes,ensuring seamless transition from concept to production, andoptimizing assembly techniques for high-precision laser systems. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in scalingmanufacturing operations, improving quality, and drivingefficiency. Key Responsibilities: - Team Leadership &Development;: Lead and grow a high-performing ManufacturingEngineering team to support the assembly and production ofoptical-based laser systems, fostering a culture of innovation andcontinuous improvement. - Manufacturing Process Management: Overseeprocess planning, shop layout design, equipment selection, andcommissioning of facilities. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Workclosely with engineering, supply chain, project management, andplant operations to enhance manufacturability, productionefficiency, and cost-effectiveness. - Assembly & TestingExpertise: Analyze BOMs, make “Make/Buy” decisions, determineprocess flows, and write detailed work, inspection, test, andtroubleshooting instructions for complex electrical and mechanicalassemblies. Develop and optimize processes for precision opticalcomponents, laser assemblies, and electro-mechanical subsystems. -Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance: Drive initiativesusing lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and DFMA principles. - Design& Innovation Support: Collaborate with R&D; and productdesign teams to refine designs for manufacturability and costreduction while staying updated on advancements in lasermanufacturing, optics assembly, and automation. - Operations:Oversee supplier selection, tooling design reviews, and pricenegotiations and ensure compliance with quality standards throughregular audits and capability studies. Qualifications &Experience;: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in MechanicalEngineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Optical Engineering, or arelated field. - 10–12 years of hands-on experience inmanufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in precisionoptical systems, photonics, or laser-based technologies. - Strongexpertise in optical assembly techniques, laser alignmentprocesses, and cleanroom manufacturing. - Experience with vacuumprocessing, optical coatings, bonding techniques, and precisionmetrology tools. - Familiarity with special processes such asbrazing, welding, and oven curing used in high-precisionassemblies. - Proficiency in DFMA, PFMEA, Six Sigma, and leanmanufacturing methodologies. - Excellent project management,interpersonal, and leadership skills with a strong sense of urgencyand ability to manage multiple priorities. - Ability to workcollaboratively with global stakeholders, suppliers, and equipmentmanufacturers. - Strong decision-making skills, high energy, and apassion for driving operational excellence. - Exceptional oral andwritten communication skills with the ability to convey complextechnical concepts effectively.
