**Job Description**: Reporting to the Manager, Field Performance, this role works with the Field Service Engineering team, located in the Western Region (Calgary). As a Field Service Engineering consultant, you will provide onsite support to assist dealers with resolving vehicle technical issues. Additionally, and as required, you will support our Engineering and Legal departments performing Engineering and Safety Investigations, crash data downloads, and represent GM in legal proceedings as a technical expert. As a strong team player, you will work remotely with the Canadian Field Service Engineering Team, and cross functional teams from Canada and USA to diagnose and resolve vehicle issues. Experience in dealer technical environment, vehicle diagnostic skill and willingness to be on the leading edge of vehicle diagnostics tools/methods are key to this role. **Required skills and Experience**: - A high level of vehicle diagnostic skill and experience - Experience with GM Diagnostic Tools (MDI / GDS / Scopes, etc.) - Broad knowledge of vehicle systems including Electrical, Powertrain, Chassis - Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills - Strong analytical abilities combined with great decision-making skills - Ability to work independently - Strong learner and ability to work in cross-functional team environments - Desire to stay at leading edge of new diagnostic tools and methods - Valid Driver's License - Willingness to travel frequently throughout Western provinces/territories (primarily BC) - Ability to represent GM in legal proceedings - Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) - Fluent in English (written and spoken) **Preferred Skills and Experience**: - Extensive experience in the automotive technical field (Certified Technician) - 10+ years working as a Licensed Automotive Technician - French language as an asset **Education and Training**: - Licensed Automotive Technician or Engineering Degree **About GM**: Our vision is a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion and we embrace the responsibility to lead the change that will make our world better, safer and more equitable for all. **Why Join Us**: We aspire to be the most inclusive company in the world.
