Purpose As an Architect in International Banking Technology, you will be in a high-impact role. The Solution Architect is responsible for managing tasks and techniques used to liaise among stakeholders, understand organizational structure, policies, and operations, and recommend technical/business solutions to achieve organizational goals. You are a hands-on Architect with a results-oriented and curious mindset, possessing deep technical skills. You will guide teams across IB countries to enable effective solution delivery, ensuring solutions adhere to bank standards and are technically correct. Accountabilities Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Design, architect, and document effective solutions that resolve complex business problems and support business needs. Analyze complex business requirements; generate technical specifications for designing or redesigning software components and applications. Build, architect, design, and implement highly distributed global systems. Experience in network infrastructure, security, data, or application development. Modernize legacy systems or lead transformational initiatives. Author architectural patterns to improve assessment processes. Present to larger audiences through reports, dashboards, and education sessions. Serve as an expert resource for modeling, simulation, and analysis. Leverage industry best practices for designing, testing, implementing, and supporting solutions. Ensure security and compliance requirements are met. Be adaptable and thrive in an evolving environment. Communicate effectively with business and technology leadership, promoting ideas and gaining consensus. Implement a trusted governance model with automated architecture assessments based on standards and policies. Drive the implementation of policies and standards with internal teams like Security, Infrastructure, Data, etc. Deploy technology solutions that realize the trusted governance framework, policies, and workflows. Challenge thinking by applying architectural principles to enhance security, resiliency, and the bank’s technology footprint. Research emerging technologies and propose necessary changes. Inform stakeholders about issues with current technical solutions. Create enterprise designs and reference architectures. Promote a high-performance and inclusive work environment. Manage architectural guidelines, best practices, and technologies to ensure development consistency. Conduct proof-of-concept tests to evaluate and integrate best practices and technologies. Participate in and complete training programs to enhance technical skills and business value. Incorporate the bank’s risk appetite and culture into daily activities and decisions. Ensure operational effectiveness and compliance with controls, including AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Education / Experience / Other Information Must have: 8+ years of software engineering experience Experience designing and implementing highly distributed global systems in network, security, data, or application development. Leadership skills with excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities. Disciplined in development methodologies and familiar with software development technologies. Practical experience with large-scale system design and specifications. Knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, architectural styles, and SDLC. Experience with API design and implementation. Proficiency in English (B2 level or higher). Proficiency in one of the following: JS-TS React, Java, Kotlin, Node, Python, Native Applications, or similar. Preferred: Experience modernizing legacy systems and executing cloud migrations. Working Conditions Standard office environment; occasional non-standard hours required.
