We're looking for a part-time Crisis Helpline Responder with proven experience as a helpline counsellor or responder, and completed training in Crisis intervention or Suicide prevention. Role & Responsibilities Respond to telephone hotline for crisis support involving suicide bereavement, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and concerns from friends or family. Provide evidence-based crisis counselling and personal support using de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques. Assess callers' needs, triage for safety or emergency medical attention, and refer to appropriate services such as face-to-face crisis intervention, case management, therapy, or group services. Maintain accurate call reports on issues and referrals. Comply with Data Protection Acts (GDPR). Support development of crisis management plans. Make quick decisions during crises when uncertain. Ensure smooth handover to next shift personnel. Dedicate entire shift to Intellect tasks. Conduct risk and lethality assessments for suicide cases. Requirements 1-3 years of helpline experience, paid or voluntary. Effective communication in native language. Experience with high-risk clinical situations, such as suicide or crisis cases. Ability to maintain emotional composure and recover from high-stress interactions. English proficiency at B2 level. Plus Points Background in mental health or emergency services. Training in Crisis Intervention or Suicide Prevention. Multilingual communication skills. Professional indemnity insurance.
