Hi there! We are South and our client is looking for a Solutions Engineer – Robotics! We are seeking a highly technical and customer-focused Solutions Engineer with a strong background in robotics, autonomy, or industrial automation. This is a pivotal role that sits at the intersection of our sales, product, and engineering teams, directly contributing to our revenue growth by providing deep technical expertise during the mid-to-late stages of the sales cycle. You will be instrumental in translating complex technical capabilities into tangible business value for our prospects, designing tailored solutions, and building the trust necessary to drive adoption of our groundbreaking physical AI models. What You'll Do - Technical Sales Expertise: Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert (SME) during customer engagements from the mid-funnel onwards. - Custom Solutioning & Presentation: Collaborate with Account Executives to understand prospect requirements deeply and craft compelling, customized technical presentations, demos, and solution proposals that highlight the unique value proposition of foundation models. This includes creating custom slides and visual aids. - Proof of Concept (POC) / Pilot Support: Provide technical leadership and support for customer POCs and pilots, ensuring successful implementation, performance validation, and clear articulation of outcomes. - Statement of Work (SOW) Development: Work closely with sales, legal, and product teams to draft detailed and accurate Statements of Work (SOWs) and technical proposals that precisely define project scope, deliverables, timelines, and success criteria for customer engagements. - Technical Due Diligence & Objection Handling: Address complex technical questions and overcome objections from highly technical customer stakeholders (e.g., robotics engineers, AI/ML leads, operations managers), demonstrating a deep understanding of their current challenges and how provides a superior solution. - Competitive Positioning: Understand the technical strengths and weaknesses of competitors and effectively articulate differentiators in customer conversations. - Feedback Loop to Product: Act as a critical conduit between prospects/customers and our product and engineering teams, gathering technical feedback, identifying market trends, and contributing insights that directly inform product roadmap development. - Internal Enablement: Educate and train the broader sales and GTM teams on technical capabilities, common use cases, and competitive differentiators. What We're Looking For - Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. - Technical Expertise (3+ years experience): - Demonstrated experience with robotics systems, autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, or complex perception/control systems. - An understanding of AI/ML concepts, particularly in computer vision, motion planning, reinforcement learning, or large-scale data processing related to physical systems. - Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in robotics/AI (e.g., Python, C++). - Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) or other relevant robotics frameworks/middleware is a strong plus. - Experience with sensor modalities common in robotics (e.g., LiDAR, cameras, IMUs). - Sales/Customer-Facing Acumen (1-3 years in a solutions-oriented role): - Proven experience in a Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Presales, or Technical Consultant role for a B2B software or deep-tech product. - Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and compelling business value propositions for diverse audiences. - Excellent presentation and demonstration skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Experience in creating customized technical documentation, proposals, and Statements of Work (SOWs). - Problem-Solving & Adaptability: - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a customer-centric approach to identifying and solving challenges. - Highly resourceful and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving startup environment. - Communication & Collaboration: - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (sales, product, engineering, leadership). - Willingness to travel periodically for customer meetings, events, and onsite support (estimated 20-30%). Bonus Points If You Have - Experience working with foundation models or large-scale AI models in a practical application. - Domain knowledge in one or more of target industries (agriculture, mining, construction, defense, etc.). - Prior experience in a seed-stage or high-growth startup environment.
