CDM Smith is seeking a Chief of Party for the USAID/Colombia Productive Ecosystems Activity pursuit. - This individual will be responsible for the overall Technical and Project Management aspects of the project contingent on award and funding by USAID. The COP will ensure that all objectives, cross-cutting teams, and operations are working in close coordination with USAID/Colombia, key stakeholders, other donors, the private sector, government institutions, and local and international organizations. - Primary responsibilities include: - Lead overall technical approach, strategic planning, implementation, and monitoring of program activities. - Responsible for strategic leadership, technical input, and project management to achieve project objectives and targets. - Oversee and take an active role in ensuring the overall technical quality and integrity of project deliverables and outputs. - Oversee development and implementation of annual work plans with team members, identifying changes as necessary and building client and key stakeholder buy-in at all stages of the process. - Identify and develop mitigation strategies for potential future problems in time to ensure that preventive measures can be taken. - Maintain effective and open communication throughout the project with USAID/Colombia, relevant Government of Colombia agencies, project partners and implementers, Home Office Project Manager, project operations teams, and other relevant stakeholders. - Serve as the strategic leader of a diverse and talented project team, building on synergies and cultivating a positive environment for collaboration, communication, and successful project implementation. - Cultivate a positive and motivating environment for staff at all levels through communication, team building, and responsiveness. - Adhere to CDM Smith standards of excellence in project management, quality management, compliance, ethics and integrity in all approaches, behaviors and outcomes. **Minimum Qualifications** - Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline with professional scientist registration/certification OR Master's degree in Science or related discipline. - 12 years of related experience. - Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. - Excellent speaking and writing in English. **Preferred Qualifications** - Prior experience as a Chief of Party on a USAID-funded environmental project - Prior professional experience in Colombia - Fluency in Spanish **Assignment Category** - Fulltime-Regular **Amount of Travel Required** - 10% **Background Check and Drug Testing Information** **Agency Disclaimer** - All vendors must have a signed CDM Smith Placement Agreement from the CDM Smith Recruitment Center Manager to receive payment for your placement.
