The Analytics and Enterprise Data Services teams bring data together from across Blackboard and Anthology’s extensive product lines into a cloud-based data lake. We deliver products and services for analytics, data science, business intelligence, and reporting. As a Senior BI Developer, you will be responsible for developing creative business intelligence solutions that encompass accessibility, componentization, performance, reliability, and security. Primary responsibilities will include: - Participating in the development lifecycle of report generation (requirements gathering and analysis, development, testing and release) - Partnering closely with Product Owner to evaluate user stories and feature development - Ensuring proper documentation of SQL code and report deployments in GitHub - Translating business requirements to implement metrics, reports, dashboards, and data visualizations - Designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions and reporting dashboards and views using BI tools, such as AWS QuickSight - Providing support to ensure availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards - Designing and implementing technology best practices, guidelines, and repeatable processes - Required skills/qualifications:_ - 5+ years of experience developing and implementing enterprise-scale reports and dashboards - Proven experience as a BI Developer - Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining - In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework - Familiarity with BI technologies and data visualization tools (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI, Tableau, Pyramid, and/or QuickSight) - Knowledge of SQL queries - Experience with data warehouse implementations - Knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts (relational and dimensional) - Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities - Ability to work with Design, Architecture, PM, PO and other team members and stakeholders to understand breakdown of work and reporting needs - BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field - Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above - Preferred skills/qualifications:_ - Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative - Programming/scripting experience and knowledge of software development life cycle - Full-stack development experience - familiarity with React, Angular, Java, Python - Previous experience in the education industry or with e-learning technologies **The Office**: Anthology has an office located in Bogota, Colombia as a hub for the LAC market. - Located in Capital Towers center in the financial district - Excellent and secure area to eat lunch, have a walk, or dine after office hours - Benefits in prepaid medicine, dental plan, and wellness allowance - Easy access to public transportation close to two important avenues, Carrera 7 and Calle 100 - Free parking for employees and paid parking for visitors - Multiple private spaces for virtual and face-to-face meetings - Regular events like bring your dog to work day and ping-pong, foosball, and Mario Kart tournaments - Sodexo card provided for employees - Daily budget to spend on beverage vending machines - Learn more about the Bogota office culture by checking out our Facebook page - Option for remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic This job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required.
