Team Overview: _(_ The primary objective of the International Casualty Unit is to produce profitable business for Everest Insurance International (“EII”) and deliver superior service to our insureds and brokers. This objective will be achieved through disciplined underwriting, proper program design and risk selection. Role Purpose: The primary purpose of this role is to partner in the development and execution of the Colombia underwriting strategy and support to the Active Underwriter and the wider underwriting community across Everest Global Markets in its delivery. Key Accountabilities: - Produce, Underwrite and service accounts and to assist with Casualty underwriting and departmental workflow systems, processes, and related issues as necessary - Expand the Casualty portfolio in line with controls, underwriting strategy, and guidelines, while always maintaining a focus on bottom line underwriting profit and delivery - Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key brokers and clients - Underwrite and price Casualty risks, including all forms of distribution, and determine the acceptability of risks for underwriting - Prepare quotations and formal proposals on new and renewal business - Ensure that documentation is completed timely and accurately according to standards - Assist Head of Casualty in addressing and resolving overdues, workflow, and various clerical issues as necessary - Effectively communicate with management on all issues both within and outside the Unit as needed - Interact and coordinate activities with other departments - Liaise with other underwriting departments as necessary - Recommend new procedures and programs were warranted - Furnish intelligence on the Casualty market, including competitor strengths and weaknesses - Responsible for complying with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and / or carry out responsibilities and / or administrative activities - vDevelop business through execution of new ideas and strategies Professional Experience: - Minimum of a bachelor’s lawyer, business administrator, engineer degree or equivalent in business or a related field, with experience in line of business as: Casualty and Financial Lines - 2-4 years of professional work experience Skills & Abilities: - Advanced English (required). - Outstanding interpersonal relationship building, employee coaching, and development skills. - Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant tools. - High proactivity and accountability.
