Hiring Department eLearning Job Description The Director of Design Services will play a pivotal role at Mizzou Online in shaping the vision, strategy, and execution of online instructional and media design services for the University of Missouri. This role involves providing design, development, and evaluation services to colleges, departments and faculty, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards, and promoting effective online course and program design strategies. This position will lead a team of instructional and experience designers, as well as work directly with complementary education support services, including Academic Technology, Program Coordination, Office of Accessibility, Office of Student Affairs and more. The Director of Design Services will also be required to attend the annual on-site Mizzou Online All Staff Retreat, Director Retreats, and other on-site events or meetings as business needs dictate. Travel for this position is expected to be minimal. Preferred Qualifications 8 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired Master's or PhD in Education Administration, Instructional Design or applicable discipline Experience in leading an instructional design team in higher education, including budgetary oversight, staff supervision, and project administration Experience in the successful application of project management principles to the course design process Remote work experience Anticipated Hiring Range Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,027 per year Grade: GGS 012 University Title: Senior Director Program/Projects Operations Internal applicants can determine their University title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.
