Job Description The Software Asset Management Analyst will be responsible for software asset management (SAM) lifecycle processes and for managing software assets across multiple platforms. This role requires in-depth knowledge of software licensing and metrics, as well as experience with asset management tools and data analysis. The Software Asset Management Analyst will collaborate with various teams across geographies to optimize the software asset portfolio and ensure cost-effective solutions for the business. Responsibilities Software Asset Management & Lifecycle: Oversee the software asset lifecycle from acquisition to retirement. Maintain an up-to-date inventory of software assets and ensure compliance with licensing guidelines. Ensure proper tracking and management of software licenses, usage, and renewals. Licensing & Compliance: Stay current with licensing metrics and guidelines for various software products (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, etc.). Assess and optimize software usage to minimize compliance risk and reduce unnecessary costs. Provide recommendations for licensing models and terms to meet business needs while optimizing costs. Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize Microsoft Excel to perform data analysis related to software assets. Analyze software data to derive actionable insights that drive business decisions. Develop and maintain reports to track key performance metrics and identify areas for cost optimization. Work closely with subject matter experts, including system architects, administrators, financial managers, and engineers, to obtain information critical for software asset management. Interact with teams across different geographies, ensuring alignment and clear communication regarding software asset management processes. Communicate risks, cost savings, and optimization opportunities to Software Owners. Proactively identify opportunities for risk reduction and cost savings within the software portfolio. Provide recommendations to Software Owners for portfolio optimization, helping them make informed decisions on software usage and procurement. Asset Management Tools & Platforms: Utilize asset management tools (e.g., SCCM, JAMF, SNOW) to track, manage, and report on software assets. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of asset management tools and processes. Service Desk & Support: Assist with Service Desk requests related to software asset management. Provide support for software deployment, upgrades, and license issues. Experience with ServiceNow is a plus. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent. Experience Strong knowledge of software asset management (SAM) processes and best practices (SCCM, JAMF, SNOW). Familiarity with software licensing metrics and guidelines for major software vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, IBM). Experience with asset management tools such as SCCM, JAMF, SNOW, or similar platforms. Experience with data analysis, particularly using Microsoft Excel to analyze software-related data. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and decision-making. Knowledge of ServiceNow or similar Service Desk platforms is a plus.
