We’re looking for an experienced FullStack Engineer to join our mission of building the future of bookkeeping! Simplicity and efficiency are at the core of every product we build at botkeeper. As a frontend engineer, you’ll be expected to carry this mantra into your daily development by building, extending, and scaling products that streamline bookkeeping and practice management processes. We are a high-growth startup, so you need to be a self-starter who is comfortable with some level of ambiguity regarding requirements, and able to quickly iterate on ideas; we move fast, and you’ll need to keep up. Responsibilities Taking designs/mocks and architecting a code structure to maximize maintainability and efficiency. Developing frontend systems with an emphasis on user-friendliness, developer-friendliness, robustness, and maintainability. Working with product teams and end users to understand user interactions and build scalable solutions to improve customer workflows and experiences. Establishing processes for ensuring maintainability of new code and refactoring old code to meet new standards. Actively contributing to our code review culture. Qualifications 5+ years of shipping software in a professional team setting. 4+ years of experience with React. 2+ years of experience with Node.js. Knowledge of React Query. Experience with React v1 (note: verify if this refers to React version or a different context). 6+ years of experience with architecture. Proficient knowledge of NPM, webpack, Git, and other frontend development tools. Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and management to gather requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates, and meet deadlines. Curiosity about how things work, creativity in problem-solving, and eagerness to collaborate.
