Our client portfolio consists of fortune 500 companies in the healthcare and life science industries. **_ This is a 6 month contract remote role with the possibility to transition to a permanent position. There shift being offered:_** - 9 am - 5 pm EST **Who we need** We are looking for a QC Associate to support our production team (project managers, team leads) QA Associates are responsible for assessing customer requirements, project specs and meeting quality standards for translation projects. **What we need you to do** - Understand CQ fluency’s quality standards ensuring they are upheld. - Understand the customer’s expectations and makes sure they are upheld. - Review foreign language documents against an English source looking for and fix items such as spacing, formatting, web links, cross references/TOCs, capitalization, punctuation, headers/footers, names, numbers, fonts, bullets and more. - Design QC Checklists. - Fill out a QC Checklist for each project reviewed. - Properly utilize all appropriate supplemental materials (reference materials, glossaries, etc.). - Provide feedback to Project Managers or others who are involved in the project. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date administrative tasks and management reporting. Combination of linguist and Project Management activities: - Review and harmonize comments in the PDFs (proofed by several linguists) and creates an issues log sheet for the client. - Make the final judgement call for linguistic disagreements between different proofreaders. - Implement data changes in memoQ (TM project level updates) and reports such LQA related actions to Quality department. - Schedule resources for proofreading jobs, organizing files, and preparing the vendor POs for PM to be able to send out. - Communicate with resources to address any inquiries/issues/delays. - Provide feedback to proofreaders and answers their questions about feedback. - Address Spanish linguistic inquiries and reports such LQA related actions to Quality department. **What we want you to have** - Minimum 0-1 year translation industry experience including use of translation tools - Outstanding verbal and written communication skills - Positive attitude and a true team player - Tech savvy, able to juggle multiple tasks under pressure in a fast-paced environment - Energetic self-starter with initiative and creative approach to problem solving - Strong computer skills including MS Office and Adobe software products - Fluency in English and preferably a second language - Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution bqJ3G3E6M0
