Transportation Supervisor Role Join our team at AVA Rafting & Ziplining as a Transportation Supervisor. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for maintaining our fleet and managing CDL driver staff. About the Role: - Maintain AVA's fleet and manage CDL driver staff - Manage driver staff, including scheduling drivers - Address vehicle maintenance concerns by coordinating with in-house maintenance staff to ensure timely repair of vehicles - Track and file paperwork to maintain DOT compliance for vehicle condition and driver logging - Schedule drug tests for pre-employment of every driver and coordinate random drug screenings throughout season - Hold weekly meetings with drivers to address any driver concerns as well as update drivers on any changes of pickups locations - Train new driver staff, including basic throw bag training, proper daily vehicle inspections, and driver logging - Be available to drivers for any questions or concerns they may have - Perform weekly walk-throughs of all vehicles and create a list of things to inspect on each walk-through - Sign off that inspections have been completed - Forecast and schedule all drivers' shifts to cover daily operational needs in coordination with outpost managers - Forecast and organize all transportation logistics to accommodate all trips - Follow guidelines provided to track, communicate, and perform maintenance as needed to the entire vehicle fleet - Ensure all drivers are performing pre-trip inspections properly and communicating maintenance needs immediately using materials provided by AVA - Ensure all vehicles contain all proper equipment, including jacks, tire irons, fire extinguishers, hazard triangles, water, and all necessary permits and parking stickers - Ensure cleanliness of the entire fleet by holding drivers accountable for daily trash removal, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and washing - Be aware of DOT regulations and ensure the fleet can pass DOT inspections in coordination with Outpost Mechanic - Ensure drivers are professional and delivering exceptional guest service at all times, are clean, in uniform, and approachable to our guests - Inform outpost managers of any personnel issues and coordinate with them on giving feedback, coaching for correction, and any disciplinary action as needed - Address all safety concerns with outpost managers, drivers, and any other staff as needed - Attend staff safety meetings bi-monthly and express any transportation safety concerns with staff during those meetings - Ensure DVIRS are filled out correctly, filed, and kept for three months - Ensure driver clearinghouse compliance, including pre-season and mid-season random testing - Ensure drivers are meeting hours of service compliance - Understand and exemplify AVA core values, vision, and mission Qualifications: - Prior heavy equipment driving experience, preferably large bus or semi-truck - A valid Commercial Driver's License, Class A or B, with air brake and passenger endorsement - A current Medical Examination Report is a prerequisite for employment - A clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) - Basic maintenance skills preferred - Knowledge of DOT regulations (will train) - A drug screen is mandatory, and randomized drug and alcohol testing is also required by state and federal law
