Purpose Provides advisory, leadership, and oversight over the Global Communications Supervision Procedures on behalf of GBM Internal Controls to ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct, internal policies & procedures, Global FX Code, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Oversees and enhances ongoing operational processes, procedures, and manages business changes to align with regulatory changes. This incumbent contributes to the overall success of the Communications Surveillance team, ensuring business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. Accountabilities Leadership: Leads a team of Managers and Senior Analysts in executing the Global Communications Supervision Procedures, including directing and supporting review activities, ensuring they are conducted professionally and effectively. Fosters a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Manages ambiguity surrounding initiatives/projects. Ensures team effectiveness, producing positive results, and adjusts focus as needed. Business Knowledge: Maintains expert knowledge of Bank and GBM processes, policies, procedures, applications, and products related to Global Communications Supervision Procedures. Documentation & Audit Readiness: Ensures high-risk regulatory and operational controls are current, along with documentation like handbooks, test plans, methodologies, schedules, and reports to sustain the procedures. Global Communications Supervision: Manages execution of GBM Communication Supervision Procedures, planning review resources, liaising with management, establishing controls for confidentiality, defining internal processes for alert escalation, and implementing best practices while collaborating with stakeholders. Proactively identifies risks and develops metrics to monitor supervisory effectiveness. Executes reviews, prepares reports, and ensures compliance with policies and regulations, including data feed control, quality control, and social media supervision. Relationship Management Develops and maintains strategic relationships with key stakeholders within GBM and internationally, participates in oversight groups, and presents results to executives. Other Projects and Activities Performs ad-hoc reviews and other duties as assigned. Risk Culture and Compliance Understands and integrates the bank's risk appetite, fostering an environment of effective operations, compliance, and conduct risk management. High Performance Champions a high-performance culture, attracting, developing, and motivating the team through inclusive leadership and succession planning. Dimensions Supports the implementation and oversight of policies related to communications supervision across Global Banking & Markets and International Banking. Education / Experience Minimum 7+ years of experience in supervisory or senior compliance roles. Strong problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills. Knowledge of bank regulations, policies, and operations. Experience in communication surveillance is highly desirable. Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance, or accounting.
