Purpose of the job Lead local procurement function inthe market and manage direct reports acting as a leader and a pointof reference. Leverage business acumen to provide strategicthinking to assure, protect margins and create value to PMI.Provide overall strategic guidance and direction for the teamassigned, leading and developing an adaptable and agile Procurementorganization to deliver optimum mix of product availability,quality, service level, and price. Accountabilities - Meetregularly with senior stakeholders to achieve early involvement inBusiness’ strategy definition to influence key decisions andimprove resource allocations. Translate Business requirements intoactionable plans. - Align local sourcing plans with regional plansaccording to Cluster direction and influence internal stakeholdersto deploy global or regional initiatives locally. - Master complexnegotiations to drive business needs and proactively build levers.Coordinate and steer critical negotiations and lead complex ones.Anticipate results and align with stakeholders on possiblenegotiation outcomes. - Provide visibility during budgeting processin close alignment with budget owners (MD—1) and Finance, providingmarket insights like inflation and driving value initiatives thatprotect local affiliate margins. - For non-critical services orgoods, correctly balance the usage of customized contractualframeworks versus Purchase Orders to meet Company objectives ofspeed and time-to-market. - Encourage a Lean way of working andensure effective transfer of non-core procurement sourcingprocesses to SSC (if applicable) or effective deployment ofRegional/Global Procurement Models. - Manage effectively remoteteams and successfully leverage Procurement operations centers. -Review the Affiliate’s business proposals for consistency with lawsand company policies. Participate on project teams, ensuring thattheir decisions and recommendations protect the legal interests ofthe company, and execute decisions to achieve objectives on atimely basis. Education SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES College/University,Higher education in business administration / economics / trade.University degree in Engineering, Business Administration orEconomics. - Diploma from a recognized Procurement Institute is anasset. - MBA degree or equivalent is a plus. Work Experience - Forcomplex markets, at least 7 years of experience inProcurement/Supply Chain/commercial functions and familiarity withmarket regulatory environments. - Excellent analytical skills andcommunication skills. - Project management skills. - Excellentnegotiation and influencing skills at all levels are essential. -Great understanding of how matrix organizations work and ability toestablish a network across the organizations. - Business andfinancial acumen.
